RESEARCH

Our laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms regulating gene expression in female diseases, with a specific focus on two key conditions: vulvodynia and Extramammary Paget Disease of the Vulva (EMPD).

PUBLICATIONS

Members of the Proserpio Lab have contributed to a variety of research areas, including the transcriptional regulation of stem cell differentiation, tissue memory, single-cell technologies, immune cell differentiation, chromatin dynamics and cancer biology. We are now applying the expertise gained across these fields to investigate understudied female diseases.

PEOPLE

Valentina Proserpio, Associate Professor of Genetics, leads the team, bringing experience from internationally recognized institutions. Her academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Milan, followed by postdoctoral research at the LMB and the Sanger Institute in Cambridge (UK). She later established her own lab in Turin, dedicated to the study of female health conditions.
